New details about Exynos 2500 revealed

Samsung

Samsung first introduced the Exynos 2500 chip late last year, but it didn’t make its way into the Galaxy S25 lineup. Rumors now suggest that this advanced processor could debut in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Recently, a fresh leak has unveiled more detailed specifications for the Exynos 2500.

Key Features of the Exynos 2500

According to leaker @Jukanlosreve, the Exynos 2500 is a 3nm chip manufactured using Samsung Foundry’s SF3 process. It reportedly features a 10-core CPU with the following configuration:

  • 1 Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.3GHz
  • 2 Cortex-A725 cores running at 2.75GHz
  • 5 Cortex-A725 cores clocked at 2.36GHz
  • 2 Cortex-A520 cores at 1.8GHz

The chip is said to include 16MB of L3 cache memory, enhancing its processing capabilities.

The GPU, known as Xclipse 950, is based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture. It features 8 Workgroup Processors (WGPs) and operates at 1.3GHz. The processor supports 9.6Gbps 16-bit quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.x storage.

In terms of camera and video performance, the Exynos 2500’s ISP supports up to 320MP sensors and can handle 8K video recording at 30fps. Its NPU provides up to 56 TOPS of AI processing power, making it a strong contender for AI-heavy tasks.

Will the Exynos 2500 Appear in Galaxy Z Flip 7?

Samsung initially tested the Exynos 2500 in some Galaxy S25 and S25+ prototypes but chose not to use it due to production challenges. While the yield issues were eventually resolved, it was too late for the chip to feature in the Galaxy S25 series.

Now, reports suggest the Exynos 2500 might power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 instead. However, these are just leaks, so the information should be taken cautiously.

It will be exciting to see how the Exynos 2500 performs against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, which has already set high standards for efficiency and performance.
