What’s the deal with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s bluetooth S Pen?

Galaxy S25 Ultra SPen

Samsung recently stirred up confusion with its blog post about the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen. The company suggested there might be a separate Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the device. However, this doesn’t match the details listed on Samsung’s official website.

Currently, Samsung’s website mentions only two types of S Pens for the Galaxy S25 Ultra: the standard S Pen and the S Pen Pro. The S Pen Pro includes Bluetooth features, allowing it to connect with other Samsung devices.

But here’s where things get puzzling. Although a Samsung representative claimed the S Pen Pro works with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, attempts to pair it during a media event were unsuccessful. Later, a Samsung executive confirmed that the S Pen Pro isn’t compatible with the Galaxy S25 Ultra at all.

This raises many questions. If Samsung does plan to sell a separate Bluetooth S Pen specifically for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it’s an unusual decision.

Considering the phone already starts at $1,199, asking users to purchase a Bluetooth S Pen separately might not go over well. It could also make the standard S Pen feel less valuable.

So, what’s happening? It’s possible Samsung made some last-minute changes, leading to miscommunication. Alternatively, the mention of Bluetooth functionality for the regular S Pen could have been placeholder information that wasn’t updated.

Samsung is expected to clarify the situation soon. Once they release an official update, we’ll share more details. For now, the mystery continues.
