Cool new drag and drop on the Samsung Galaxy S25
The new One UI 7 update for the Samsung Galaxy S25 introduces a smart drag-and-drop feature that feels almost magical. This feature could amaze you, even though it might not be on every phone.
A tech expert named IceUniverse found this cool drag-and-drop tool on the Galaxy S25 Ultra with One UI 7. He pointed out that it’s only available in the Chinese version for now. In China, the One UI on the Galaxy S25 lets you use a special drag-and-drop system. If you hold down on an item, a handy sidebar pops up showing your most-used apps.
When you drag an item over an app icon, it smartly places the item where it belongs. For example, IceUniverse showed how he could drag a photo from one app straight to Weibo, making it easy to share images.
There’s a video on X where you can see this feature in action. Samsung might bring this smart drag-and-drop to other Galaxy phones around the world. They’ve done this before with other features, like giving special versions of Bixby to Chinese users.
This drag-and-drop is similar to what you’d see on a computer. It makes handling multiple tasks at once much easier by using the screen’s touch features. Samsung actually introduced a basic version of this with One UI 6, where you could drag and drop by holding down on text, images, or files, and use multiple fingers to copy, move, or paste them.
Continuing to introduce the Samsung S25 Ultra, this feature is unique to the Chinese version: intelligent drag and drop.
