New video features added to Samsung’s One UI 7.0 with Camera Assistant

Samsung has not changed much when it comes to the camera hardware in the new Galaxy S25 series, except for the 50MP ultrawide camera in the Ultra model. However, they’ve introduced some cool new video features through the Camera Assistant app.

New Features for Galaxy S25 with Camera Assistant
The Galaxy S25 phones now have two exciting features thanks to the Camera Assistant module in Good Lock. One is the ability to switch HDR10+ video recording on or off directly from the app. To use this, you just need to make sure HDR is activated in the Camera app’s Advanced Video Options.

HDR10+ and External Storage Support
With HDR10+, your videos will have better color and contrast when shot in Video or Pro Video modes on the Galaxy S25’s camera. While the previous Galaxy S24 model only did 8-bit SDR videos, the S25 series steps up to 10-bit HDR videos, using the HLG format for even better quality.

Another handy feature is the option to save videos right onto an external storage device plugged into the USB Type-C port. This works with various video modes like Video, Pro Video, Portrait Video, Slow Motion, and Hyperlapse.

These new camera features might only be available on the Galaxy S25 models for now, but we’re hoping Samsung will extend them to other devices too. These enhancements make video recording on these phones even more versatile and user-friendly.
