Android 16 update to improves hearing aid experience

Android 16

The latest Android version is making life easier for people who use hearing aids with LE Audio, the new Bluetooth audio standard. LE Audio provides clearer sound, lasts longer on a single charge, and works better with lots of devices. Now, with this new Android update, there are even more perks for hearing aid users.

One big change is how you can now manage the sounds around you. With LE Audio hearing aids, you can decide how much noise from the environment you want to hear. If you’re in a loud area, you can lower the external noise, or if you’re somewhere too quiet, you can increase it. You can adjust each hearing aid separately or both together. There’s also a new button to quickly silence or unsilence the surroundings, helping you hear more clearly in various settings.

Android LE Audio feature

Another cool update lets you change which microphone you use during phone calls. If your hearing aid’s microphone isn’t working well, maybe because of background noise or low battery, you can switch to your phone’s microphone. This not only helps you hear better but also saves battery on your hearing aids.

Android LE Audio feature

Android already supports LE Audio, and these updates make everything even simpler. We’re hoping Google will add more handy features like Fast Pair soon to make hooking up hearing aids quicker and easier.

If you’re using LE Audio hearing aids and have the Android 16 Beta, you can start playing with these new features right away. Once they’re fully released, Samsung users might see these updates in One UI 8, built on Android 16, for their Galaxy phones.
