The Now Bar in One UI 7.0 is a cool new tool that makes your phone easier to use. It shows what’s happening on your phone even when it’s locked or in sleep mode.
Now Bar on Your Always-On Display
The Now Bar pops up on your lock screen and also on your Always-On Display (AOD). This means you can keep an eye on things like sports scores, timers, stopwatches, or your exercise progress from Samsung Health, without having to wake up your phone.
Here’s how it looks on AOD – one picture has the wallpaper showing, and the other doesn’t:

You can even press the buttons on the Now Bar twice to use them when your phone is in AOD mode. This feature works not just on the new Galaxy S25 but also on the S24 series.
What Can Now Bar Do?
The Now Bar looks like a small pill at the bottom of your screen. It gives you quick updates on what’s going on, like:
- Bixby
- Clock
- Emergency Sharing
- Google Maps
- Google for sports scores
- Interpreter
- Samsung Health
- Samsung Notes
- Voice Recorder
Future Updates
With Android 16 coming soon, we might see even smarter features. Android 16 will have something called “Live Updates,” which shows you how things are progressing, like how close your food delivery is or your journey on Google Maps. Samsung could mix these Live Updates with the Now Bar in the next big update, One UI 8.0.
Don’t miss out! You can pre-order your Galaxy S25 now and experience these features for yourself.
