Samsung’s big return to Computex 2025 after a long break
Samsung Electronics is making a grand return to Computex 2025, the biggest IT show in Asia, which happens every year in Taipei, Taiwan, in May. This will be their first time back since 2012, showing they want to dive back into the Asian tech world, especially in AI and chip-making. Samsung is planning to display key AI computing chips, like high-capacity memory, and to build stronger links with companies from Taiwan and big North American tech firms at the event.
The tech world has changed a lot, with AI now playing a huge role in how tech shows are run. Computex used to be all about computer parts like motherboards and video cards, but now it’s also about AI and other new tech, especially since the world has moved on from the big health crisis. Another big name in chips, SK Hynix, will also be at Computex for the second year in a row. They’re set to show off their latest AI chips, possibly including the next big thing in memory, HBM4, which we might see prototypes of by mid-year. Last year, SK Hynix started sending out their new HBM3E chips to NVIDIA for their latest graphics cards, which got a lot of buzz.
Even NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, who’s a big deal in AI, is set to meet with Taiwan Semiconductor’s CEO, CC Wei, and visit various booths at Computex, showing how important this event is for building connections.
An expert in the industry commented, “Samsung, who usually goes big at CES, is thinking about coming back to Computex next year. This shows that tech shows are not just about gadgets anymore. Even IFA is changing its name, and CES is bringing in more AI and inviting leaders like Huang, but these shifts in tech expos will keep happening.”
