Samsung has rolled out the January 2025 update for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra in Europe. Following its release in the US, this update is now making its way to European users. This new update operates on Android 14 with One UI 6.1. The Galaxy S22 series is also lined up for the Android 15-based One UI 7 update, which is expected to arrive next month.
The January 2025 update enhances the security and stability of these smartphones, preparing them for future updates. Here are the firmware versions for each model:
- Galaxy S22 – S901BXXSDEXL1
- Galaxy S22 Plus – S906BXXSDEXL1
- Galaxy S22 Ultra – S908BXXSDEXL1
This update includes patches for more than 50 security issues, with five critical and 24 high-level vulnerabilities from Google being addressed. However, two of these vulnerabilities do not impact Samsung devices. Samsung has also taken care of 22 of its own security vulnerabilities, which include improvements for Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader.
To update your Galaxy S22 series phone in Europe, simply go to Settings, then Software Updates, and select Download and Install. It’s recommended to install this update as soon as it’s available to ensure your device is up to date-and ready for the next big update. Remember, the rollout is happening gradually, so you might need to wait a bit if it hasn’t reached your device yet.
