Games on Your Wrist: Galaxy Watch 5 runs big titles

Galaxy Watch 5

You might think you’ve seen everything, but wait until you hear this. A clever developer shared something amazing on Reddit. They managed to play big games like God of War and GTA: Vice City on a Galaxy Watch 5.

This shouldn’t surprise you too much if you’re into tech. There’s a fun tradition where tech enthusiasts try to run software on gadgets not meant for it. We’ve seen folks install Windows 11 on a Pixel phone, run Wordle on a Game Boy, and even play DOOM on a pregnancy test. It’s cool because it shows how much power our devices really have.

The Reddit user, u/ZenonDesingk, posted pictures of their watch playing games. The photos show the watch running games like Town Hall 8, GTA: Vice City, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Mortal Kombat, Clash Royale, and Forza Horizon 4. How did they do it?

First, they used Bugjaegey, which is a tool that helps transfer app files to the smartwatch. They got a PSP emulator working this way. It took some tweaking, but they made it work.

Then, they added Steam Link to the smartwatch. This let them stream games like Forza Horizon 4 to the watch. Playing modern, big PC games directly on the watch isn’t possible, but streaming them is.

The downside? There’s no video to show how these games run on the watch. But it’s still fascinating to see what people can do with technology they’re not supposed to use this way.

This is just a regular smartwatch? No.
