No more dark screens on low battery with Samsung’s new update

One UI 7

If you’ve been using Samsung Galaxy phones for a while, you might have gotten pretty annoyed when your phone’s battery gets low. When the battery hits 5%, the screen brightness drops so much it’s hard to see anything, especially outside in the sunlight. You end up fumbling around, trying to turn the brightness back up.

But with the latest update, called One UI 7, Samsung has fixed this headache. Now, on this new version which runs on Android 15, you can turn off the automatic dimming of the screen when your battery is low. You can find this new option under “Auto dim screen” in the Settings menu under Battery.

This might seem like a small change, but it really improves how you use your phone. Right now, One UI 7 is rolling out to the Galaxy S25 and S24 series, but expect it to be available on more flagship models starting in February. This update tackles one of those little annoyances that can make a big difference in your daily phone use.
