Samsung’s New Flip Phone: Firmware work begins
The excitement from the Galaxy S25 launch is still fresh, but Samsung isn’t slowing down. They’ve got a busy year planned, with another big event expected later in 2025 where they’ll likely showcase their latest foldable phones.
We’ve got some news to share: Samsung has started working on the software for the next Galaxy Z Flip, which we’ll call the Z Flip 7 for now. They’re working on it for Europe, and there’s a chance they’re doing the same for other parts of the world too, including perhaps the Z Fold 7.
It’s not clear yet if the Z Flip 7 will come with One UI 7 or One UI 7.1, but if we look back at what Samsung has done, it’s likely to be the newer version. Every new phone usually gets at least a small update to its software.
What’s Coming Up in 2025 for Samsung?
Don’t expect the Z Flip 7 to be a huge leap from its last version. Rumors suggest there might not be many big changes, but we’ll see.
Samsung has a lot on its plate this year. They’re planning to release the Galaxy S25 Edge and a new XR headset. Plus, back at the January Unpacked event, they hinted at a foldable phone with two hinges, which could be really cool.
The next big event might bring some unexpected treats, even if the Z Flip 7 sticks to the tried-and-true. The key point right now is that Samsung is already working on the software for this new flip phone.
With how advanced One UI 7 is, we’re looking forward to seeing what Samsung has up their sleeve for the foldable phones this year. They could enhance the software even more or add new Galaxy AI features. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
