Samsung’s Now Bar feature coming to budget phones

Samsung’s latest update, One UI 7.0, introduces a handy feature called the Now Bar. This small widget sits at the bottom of your lock screen and keeps you updated on current tasks like playing music, recording your voice, or running a timer.
Initially, this feature was only available on high-end phones like the Galaxy S25 with the stable version of the OS, or in beta on the Galaxy S24. However, new leaks suggest that even budget phones will get this feature. Specifically, the upcoming Galaxy A06 5G is expected to include the Now Bar according to documents from Samsung’s internal training.
The Galaxy A06 5G is set to be one of Samsung’s more affordable models, suggesting that the Now Bar might become standard across all Galaxy phones, regardless of price.
However, there’s a catch. Despite the excitement around this feature, Samsung hasn’t yet pushed out the stable version of One UI 7.0 to any device. Normally, Samsung is quick to update its phones after Google releases a new Android version, but this time, they’re taking longer. They’ve stated that they’re aiming for a significant improvement with this update, which is why it’s delayed.
There’s no confirmed date for when we’ll see One UI 7.0 on our devices, but Samsung plans to roll out One UI 8.0, based on Android 16, on schedule. This means fans will have to wait a bit longer for the innovations promised with One UI 7.0.
