New software update for Galaxy S21

Samsung Galaxy S21 Series

Samsung has been a bit slow with the big One UI 7.0 update, but they’re keeping up with their monthly security patches. They’ve just released a fresh update for the Galaxy S21 series.

Galaxy S21 Receives February 2025 Security Patch

The latest update for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra is now available across Europe, starting in Switzerland. This update, with the code G99xBXXSEGYA2, should soon reach more countries in Europe.

Here are the specific firmware versions for each model:

  • Galaxy S21: G991BXXSEGYA2
  • Galaxy S21+: G996BXXSEGYA2
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra: G998BXXSEGYA2

This update includes the February 2025 security patch, which addresses numerous security issues found in earlier versions.

To get the update on your phone, go to Settings, then Software Update, and choose Download and Install. If you’re tech-savvy, you can also use the Odin tool to manually flash the firmware, but make sure you get the right file from a trusted source.
