New beta update makes charging animation smoother on Galaxy S24

Samsung has just released One UI 7 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S24, and it comes with a much smoother charging animation than what’s seen on the S25’s final version. This update enhances the user experience significantly, making the Galaxy S24 feel more advanced than its successor in some ways.
Famous leaker IceUniverse has pointed out that the new Beta 4 update introduces a refined Charging Indicator animation to the S24 series. The fluidity of the animation gives the impression that last year’s models are more advanced than this year’s S25 phones.
You can see this in action in a video comparison. On the Galaxy S24, the charging animation on the home screen looks seamless. Even on the lock screen and Always On Display (AOD), the animation appears when you unlock your phone, providing a nice visual cue that your device is charging.
In earlier Beta versions, Samsung experimented with various designs for the charging indicator. They’ve now settled on a design that was finalized for the S25 but have worked on making the animation smoother for the S24. The design is the same as in Beta 3, but the animation itself is where you’ll notice the big difference.
This Beta 4 update might be the last one before Samsung rolls out the stable version of One UI 7. There were rumors about a sixth Beta, but according to a Samsung moderator, these are just speculations. There’s no fixed schedule for how many Beta versions there will be. Overall, the One UI 7 Beta 4’s smoother charging animation on the Galaxy S24 not only improves the look but also the feel of using the device, setting a high bar for user interface experiences.
It is the turn of S25 users to feel uncomfortable. In fact, in terms of UX development progress, S24 Beta is more advanced than S25. For example, you can see how sluggish your S25 is in this S24 Beta4 charging animation effect. However, S24 Beta4 is very smooth. pic.twitter.com/joeWToXnM6
