Samsung’s new 3nm chip for Galaxy Z Flip FE, S25 FE, and a 2nm Chip for S26

Samsung

Samsung has exciting plans for its latest chips! A recent report says the company has begun making its 3nm Exynos 2500 chip in large amounts. This chip could power the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy S25 FE phones. Plus, Samsung is already working on an even smaller 2nm Exynos 2600 chip for the Galaxy S26, expected next year.

According to TheBell, Samsung is producing the Exynos 2500 using its 3nm technology. Testing of the chip’s wafers—about 5,000 per month—might start as soon as March. Two companies, Nepes Ark and Doosan Tesna, are helping with this process.

The report hints that the 3nm Exynos will be in a new Flip phone, but it’s unclear if it’s the high-end Galaxy Z Flip 7 or the budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip FE. After skipping the Galaxy S25 launch, the Exynos 2500 might find a home in the Galaxy S25 FE instead. For now, it’s just a rumor, but it seems likely this chip will appear in Samsung’s cheaper flagship phones this year.

What’s Next: Exynos 2600

Samsung isn’t stopping there. The company is also developing the Exynos 2600 with its 2nm process. This chip could mark Samsung’s big comeback in the smartphone chip market with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026. The 2nm technology promises better speed, power savings, and a smaller size—improving performance by 12%, efficiency by 25%, and cutting size by 5%.

Samsung Foundry is working hard to perfect the 2nm process. Production is set to begin in the second half of this year. Early tests show a 30% success rate, which is a good start as they fine-tune the chip. With these new chips, Samsung aims to bring faster, stronger, and more efficient phones to its fans soon!
