Wait a bit longer, beta testers! Samsung says no to skipping One UI 7 for One UI 8

One UI 8

Samsung has been taking its time with the One UI 7 Beta and Stable updates, and it’s causing quite a stir. Right now, the Beta is still going on with no clear end in sight, while the Stable version is only available for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series and two budget-friendly $110 Samsung phones.

Some Galaxy fans, tired of the wait, jokingly suggested that Samsung should just skip One UI 7 (based on Android 15) and jump straight to One UI 8 (Android 16). In a playful yet mysterious tone, they nudged Samsung to take a few extra months and deliver something big. Well, Samsung heard them and has finally shared its thoughts.

A US community moderator from Samsung put the rumors to rest. The company isn’t planning to skip One UI 7, even with the Beta delays. Instead, they’re hard at work making sure One UI 7 is smooth and reliable for its final launch.

“We get it! Skipping to Android 16 sounds exciting, but right now, we’re all about making One UI 7.0 (Android 15) as solid and steady as possible for the big release,” the moderator said. “That said, we love your excitement for what’s next, and when Android 16 rolls around, we know you’ll have tons of ideas to make it even better!”

One UI 7 Update Details

The One UI 7 Beta is currently only available for the Galaxy S24 series in seven countries. That leaves most users stuck on One UI 6.1, the version that came with the Galaxy S24 last year. Meanwhile, Google is moving fast with Android updates. They’ve already released the second Public Beta build of Android 16 this month. Google plans to hit the Platform Stability stage by March and might reveal the full version in May. Pixel users could see the Stable Android 16 update by late May or early June. But for Samsung fans with older flagship phones, there’s still no word on when the Stable One UI 7 (Android 15) will arrive.
