Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 users might try One UI 7 early

Samsung usually shares early test versions of its new Android and One UI updates with lots of its fancy phones, like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z lines, and even some cheaper ones like the Galaxy A series. This time, though, things are different.

At first, Samsung only let the Galaxy S24 series try out the test version of One UI 7, which runs on Android 15. But now, it looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 might get in on the action too. This could be exciting—or maybe not such great news, depending on how you see it.

Someone named Tarun Vats found signs of this early One UI 7 version for the Fold 6 and Flip 6. There are two files—one for Europe and one for India—which hints that Samsung might soon let owners of these phones join the test program.

Before this, people thought Samsung was wrapping up the One UI 7 test phase for the Galaxy S24. Once that was done, the plan seemed to be rolling out the final, polished version to the S24 and other Samsung phones that qualify. But if the company starts a test program for the Fold 6 and Flip 6 now, it could stretch things out.

What does that mean? Well, as long as the testing continues for these two phones, the finished version of One UI 7 might take longer to arrive. So, while it’s cool that Fold 6 and Flip 6 users might get to try the new software early, it could also delay the official release for everyone. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung decides. If you’ve got a Fold 6 or Flip 6, keep an eye out—you might soon get a chance to test drive One UI 7 before it’s fully ready!
