Samsung Wallet makes payments easy on affordable phones—Apple sticks to high prices

Samsung Wallet is now adding a simple Tap and Pay option to its cheaper Galaxy phones. Recently, the company rolled out the Galaxy M16 and M06 in India. The Galaxy M16, in particular, lets users enjoy Tap & Pay through the Samsung Wallet.
The new Galaxy M16 5G stands out among budget phones. It comes with a bright FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, promises six years of software updates, and brings Samsung Wallet’s Tap & Pay feature to the table. This is a big deal for a phone in this price range.
For the first time, Tap and Pay is available on a budget model like the Galaxy M16 5G. It shows Samsung’s effort to bring useful features to more people without making them pay extra. On the other hand, every iPhone has Tap & Pay (also called Tap to Pay). It uses an NFC chip for safe and quick payments. Just tap your phone on a payment machine, and you’re done—no PIN is needed.
Samsung Wallet has been growing across its Galaxy phones for years. While budget and basic models used to get a simpler version of the app, Samsung is now stepping up. They’re adding better hardware to make the experience smoother. To keep things safe, the Galaxy M16 includes Samsung’s top-notch security feature, Knox Vault.
This built-in system protects the phone from both physical and digital threats. “We’re always working to improve how people use our phones. With the Galaxy M16 5G, we’re bringing our handy Tap & Pay feature through Samsung Wallet to this category for the first time. It’s all about making secure payments easy for everyone,” said Samsung India. This move makes Samsung a strong choice for budget buyers, while Apple keeps its features tied to pricier models.
