Samsung boosts Bixby with DeepSeek AI on Galaxy S25, but not everywhere

Samsung is making Bixby smarter on the Galaxy S25 series by adding DeepSeek AI. This move comes after DeepSeek quickly gained popularity and several Chinese phone brands started using it in their devices.
The Galaxy S25 series blends Gemini with Samsung’s apps and services for a smooth experience. Still, Samsung went a step further by bringing DeepSeek AI into Bixby, aiming to stand out in China’s busy smartphone market.
A well-known tipster, IceUniverse, posted a video showing Bixby answering questions using DeepSeek AI on the Galaxy S25. This upgrade works alongside Gemini and Galaxy AI, keeping Bixby as the main hub for these features.
When Bixby answers a question, it adds a small note at the bottom saying the reply comes from DeepSeek R1. It’s a smart way for Samsung to give users more choices, matching what people want these days. Apple uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT for its AI features, but Samsung teamed up closely with Google. This teamwork brings Gemini and special Samsung tweaks for smooth AI actions on the Galaxy S25.
DeepSeek AI seems to have arrived in Bixby through a simple app update. Samsung doesn’t have a big share of the Chinese market, but it’s still adding features that local users care about. Will DeepSeek AI come to Galaxy phones outside China? It’s not clear yet. Gemini already works well on Samsung devices, and its tight connection with Galaxy AI makes everything run smoothly for users. For now, this DeepSeek boost might stay limited to China, where it fits the market’s needs.
