Is Samsung going all in on Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26?
Samsung seems ready to push hard for the Exynos 2600 to power its Galaxy S26. The company is putting everything on the line to bring back its tech strength through the Exynos series. A fresh report gives us a peek into Samsung’s big plans.
According to FNNews, Samsung Electronics’s Semiconductor Division, specifically its Foundry Business, has created a new team to boost performance. This group, called the Performance Boost Team, is focused on improving super-advanced tech smaller than 2 nanometers (nm).
The team’s main goal? Getting the Exynos 2600, the “smartphone brain” chip, ready for the Galaxy S26 series. This is their top mission right now. The Exynos 2600 uses a 2nm (SF2) process, and its success rate is much better than the 3nm Exynos 2500. Samsung is said to be fully committed to using the Exynos 2600 in the S26 lineup, which explains why this new team was set up.
Mass production of Exynos 2600 prototypes is expected to start around May this year. Whether it makes it into the Galaxy S26 will be decided before the year ends. In the past, the Exynos 2500 used a fancy 3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process. But it didn’t make it into the Galaxy S25 series because its success rate was too low, slowing things down. Samsung’s bold move with the Exynos 2600 shows they’re serious about leading the smartphone game again. Will this bet pay off? We’ll find out soon!
