Samsung unveils first Android XR headset at MWC 2025

Posted on

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Samsung introduced its very first Android XR Headset. The company had dropped hints about this big reveal in its earlier plans. But honestly, the actual showcase didn’t quite match the hype, and MWC turned out to be just another stage for showing off the device.

The Samsung XR Headset, featured at MWC 2025, runs on the Android XR operating system. Known secretly as Project Moohan, it’s been in the works since the launch of the Vision Pro. Samsung is likely to roll it out to the public either later this year or early next year.

At Samsung’s booth during MWC, people crowded around to sneak a peek at Project Moohan. This XR Headset stole the spotlight alongside the new Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung teamed up with Qualcomm and Google to bring this product to life.

What’s Special About Project Moohan?

Samsung dropped a teaser that the XR Headset uses smart multimodal AI tech. This means it can handle chats and interactions in a smooth, natural way. The Android XR system will team up with Gemini and Galaxy AI to create some cool user experiences.

This year, MWC kicked off in Barcelona with a bang. Samsung grabbed attention by showing off its latest AI tricks and hands-on displays. The newest members of the Galaxy family, including this headset, definitely made a splash among the crowd.
