Samsung brings February 2025 security fix to Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

Samsung has started sending out a fresh update for its top-tier tablet from 2022, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. This update includes the February 2025 security patch, keeping your device safe. You can see what this patch fixes by checking Samsung’s security details.
The update is available for both the Wi-Fi-only version (model SM-X900) and the 5G version (model SM-X906B) of the tablet, no matter where you are in the world. The new software versions are X900XXS9CYB1 for the Wi-Fi model and X906BXXS9CYB1 for the 5G one. Samsung is sharing this update in waves, so some users might see it sooner than others.
Want to check if it’s ready for your tablet? Just go to Settings, tap “Software update,” and hit “Download and install.” Another option is to visit Samsung’s firmware page, grab the update file, and use a tool called Odin to install it yourself.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is also set to get Samsung’s big Android 15 update with One UI 7.0. This will bring a brand-new look, cool features, and smoother effects, making your tablet feel brand new. Samsung’s a bit behind schedule with One UI 7, but it should land in the coming weeks.
This update shows Samsung’s commitment to keeping older devices secure and up-to-date. While it’s just a security patch for now, it’s a sign that bigger things—like One UI 7—are on the way. For everyday users, this means more peace of mind and a tablet that keeps running strong.
