Samsung’s New Tri-Fold Phone: Stronger design and big screen

Samsung is working on its first tri-fold phone, and it might be tougher than Huawei’s Mate XT. Even though Huawei beat Samsung to release a tri-fold phone first, Samsung is planning to use its Flex G technology to make its device stronger and last longer.
At MWC25, Samsung Display showed off some cool new designs, like Flex S, Flex G, a Flip with two hinges, and a gaming flex. Ross Young, a screen expert, says Samsung’s tri-fold phone will likely use the Flex G style.
The Flex G and Flex S designs are quite different. Both fold twice, but Flex G bends inward on both sides, while Flex S folds inward once and outward once, like Huawei’s version. Experts say the Flex G’s inward folding makes it more solid than the Flex S, which is why Samsung might pick it for a sturdier phone.
Ross also shared that this Samsung tri-fold could have a 6.5-inch screen on the outside. When fully opened, the phone’s display might stretch to about 10 inches, thanks to its two folding panels. Samsung hopes to launch this tri-fold phone sometime this year. The team is busy building and testing it. If all goes well, we could see it hit the market before 2025 ends.
Meanwhile, Huawei’s Mate XT, which first launched in China, is now reaching other parts of the world. It’s already in Southeast Asia and might soon show up in some European countries. Samsung’s new phone aims to stand out with a tougher build and a big, bold screen. Fans are excited to see how it compares to Huawei’s model once it’s ready!
