Samsung Galaxy S22 series and S23 FE get March 2025 security boost

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

It’s mid-March 2025, and Samsung is sending out a fresh security update for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra. This update runs on One UI 6.1 and Android 14, keeping these phones safe and smooth. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 FE is also getting its own March 2025 security update, based on One UI 6.1.

The update for the Galaxy S22 series is already available in Korea, with more countries to follow soon. You can spot it by these build versions:

  • S901NKSS7EYB3 (Galaxy S22)
  • S906NKSS7EYB3 (Galaxy S22 Plus)
  • S908NKSS7EYB3 (Galaxy S22 Ultra)

For the Galaxy S23 FE, the build version is S711NKSS5BYB3, and it’s rolling out in Korea first too. This update, about 300 MB in size, is easy to grab—just head to Settings, tap Software Update, and hit Download. This March 2025 patch tackles 11 serious security risks and 40 big threats in Android. Samsung also fixes seven of its own issues, like problems with Wi-Fi, Auracast, communication settings, and the Galaxy Watch Gallery. These changes make your phone safer and more reliable.

Galaxy S22 users are still waiting for One UI 7. Samsung hasn’t promised a beta version yet, but a full One UI 7 update should arrive around April or May 2025. For the S23 FE, a stable One UI 7 release is also expected in April 2025, though no beta has been confirmed. Other S23 models (S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra) already have the One UI 7 Beta.

The update fixes over 58 weak spots from older software versions. Google patched 11 critical and 40 high-level risks, while Samsung handled seven specific device problems. One risk was already fixed earlier, and three don’t affect Samsung phones at all. To keep your phone ready for what’s next, download this update now. Just go to Settings, pick Software Updates, and tap Download and Install. It’s a simple step for better security and a smoother experience!
