One UI 7 makes hearing aids work better with Bluetooth Auracast

One UI 7

Samsung’s latest update, One UI 7.0 (based on Android 15), brings good news for people using hearing aids. Google recently shared that Galaxy phones and tablets with this update now connect more smoothly to certain hearing aids using Bluetooth Auracast. This cool feature will also roll out to other Android devices with Android 16.

Improved Hearing Aid Support in One UI 7

One UI 7.0 makes life easier for Galaxy users by improving how hearing aids link up with Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) and Auracast. This works with hearing aids from companies like GN Hearing and Starkey. If you have a Samsung device with this update and a compatible hearing aid, you can listen to public audio broadcasts—like flight updates at airports or tour guides at tourist spots—clearly and directly.

Auracast Coming to More Devices

Google’s Pixel phones and other Android brands will also get this hearing aid boost with Android 16. It’s a handy upgrade that makes everyday sounds more reachable for those who need it.

Samsung’s Auracast Journey

Samsung first added Auracast to its devices with One UI 5.1.1, letting users tune into broadcasts. Later, with One UI 6.1, Galaxy devices could even start their own Auracast streams. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and newer earbuds also jumped on board, supporting Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast after the One UI 6.1 update.

What’s Bluetooth Auracast All About?

Bluetooth Auracast is a smart system built on Bluetooth LE Audio. It started showing up on Galaxy devices with One UI 6.1 and got even better with One UI 7.0, especially for hearing aids. Google and Samsung teamed up with the Bluetooth SIG to make joining Auracast broadcasts super simple. Now, you can just scan a QR code with your phone’s camera to connect—no need to mess with tricky settings. This update is all about making tech work better for everyone, especially in busy places where clear sound matters most!
