Samsung updates Weather widget, encourages switch to Wallet app, and improves Quick Share with QR Codes

Samsung has launched an improved version of its Weather Widget, making it more helpful for users. This update brings better weather alerts and fixes problems from the older version. Now, you’ll get timely and trustworthy warnings about bad weather, so you’re always prepared.

Along with better alerts, Samsung tackled some glitches that users noticed before. These fixes stop the app from crashing or loading slowly, making it run smoothly. The goal is to give you a Weather Widget that’s easy to use and works well every time.

To grab this update on your Samsung phone, head to the Galaxy Store. Open the Menu, tap Updates, and look for the Weather Widget. Hit the refresh button next to it to install the new version.
Samsung is also telling users of its Samsung Pass app to switch to the Samsung Wallet app. The company has combined Pass and Samsung Pay into one app—Wallet—and Pass will soon stop working. If you use Pass, it’s time to move your info over.

Samsung Pass used to manage passwords and store payment cards or other details. Now, Wallet does all that and more. Users are seeing reminders to shift their data, with Wallet offering the same autofill options through its Quick Access feature. After switching, the Pass icon will vanish from your phone, but all your info will stay safe in Wallet. You can even add a shortcut to Pass features inside Wallet for quick use. Samsung suggests making the change soon so you don’t lose anything.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s Quick Share feature, which lets you share files between Android devices, is getting a handy upgrade. Google is adding QR codes as a default option to make sharing simpler.
Before, you had to tap a button to get a QR code in Quick Share. Now, thanks to a test spotted by AssembleDebug (reported by Android Authority), the code will show up automatically under the nearby devices list.

This tweak skips extra steps, speeding up file transfers—especially when wireless sharing isn’t working. The new Quick Share design keeps everything neat on your screen, showing both the QR code and device options clearly. It’s not out yet, but once it is, all Android users, including those with Samsung Galaxy phones, will enjoy this easier way to share.
