Samsung might skip Exynos 2500 and focus on Exynos 2600 for Galaxy S26

Samsung seems to be shifting its attention to the Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 lineup instead of pushing forward with the Exynos 2500. Originally, the Exynos 2500 was meant for the Galaxy S25 series, but production issues slowed things down earlier this year.
According to a report by TheBell, Samsung hasn’t locked in plans to use the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip FE. There were earlier whispers about it powering the Z Flip 7, and later talks pointed to the Z Flip FE, but nothing is set yet.
Samsung has been working hard to boost its 3nm chip-making process for the Exynos 2500. While there’s been some progress lately, the company still hasn’t decided if it will fully go ahead with this chip.
Someone from the chip industry shared, “The Exynos 2500 production schedule keeps changing. It looked promising for a while, but now it’s less certain.”
With the Exynos 2500 possibly being sidelined, Samsung’s System LSI and Foundry teams have taken a hit. Performance has dipped, and workers feel discouraged. There’s even been some friction between teams over who’s to blame.
On the brighter side, the System LSI team is putting a lot of energy into the Exynos 2600. Samsung is racing to finish this chip by mid-Q3 so it can launch with the Galaxy S26 series. Reports say both System LSI and Foundry are going all out. To win over 2nm customers, Samsung needs the Exynos 2600 to succeed. The company wants to prove it can compete in the high-tech chip world.
