Samsung Galaxy M56 might be slower with Exynos 1480 chip

Samsung

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy M56 could disappoint some fans with its performance. A recent report from SamMobile says it will use the Exynos 1480 processor instead of the stronger Exynos 1580 found in the Galaxy A56. The Exynos 1480 is a decent chip, built on a 4nm process, and first appeared in the Galaxy A55 last year. However, it’s not as powerful as the newer Exynos 1580, which means the M56 might feel slower compared to its A-series cousin.

The Galaxy M series usually shares similar specs with the A series but cuts costs in areas like design or build quality. This time, choosing the older Exynos 1480 could be another way to keep the price low. While this might save money, it could leave users wanting more speed and power, especially if they hoped for a big upgrade.

Details came from a Geekbench listing spotted today, April 3, 2025, showing the M56 with the Exynos 1480. Fans may need to wait for more news to see if other features make up for the weaker chip. For now, it seems the M56 won’t match the A56’s performance.
