Samsung’s Good Lock app faces a big limitation with its Global launch

Posted on

Samsung recently rolled out its Good Lock app to more countries, which is great news for Galaxy users. Good Lock lets people customize their phones in many cool ways, like changing the look of the lock screen or tweaking system settings. But there’s a catch — not all Galaxy users can enjoy it just yet.

Just like the upcoming One UI 7 update, Good Lock is only available on phones running Android 14. That means if your phone is still on Android 13 or an older version, you won’t be able to use the app, even if it’s now available in your country.

Samsung hasn’t said why this limit exists, but it might be because some features need newer system tools that only come with Android 14. While it’s good to see Good Lock expand to more places, this Android 14 requirement may disappoint many users with older phones.

So, while Samsung is making progress, not everyone can take part — unless they update to a newer device or wait for Android 14 to reach their model.
