One UI 8 might bring Android 16-style Quick Share design

One UI 8

Samsung is working on One UI 8, which will be based on Android 16, and some design changes are already being tested. One of these changes is related to the Quick Share feature — a tool used for sharing files wirelessly.

In the latest Android 16 test builds, Google has updated the share menu with a fresh look. It now shows suggested contacts in a row at the top and a simple list of apps below. This change makes it easier to quickly find and send files. Samsung seems to be following a similar design with its own Quick Share layout in the upcoming One UI 8.

Although Samsung usually adds its own custom design to Android, the new Quick Share look in One UI 8 is quite close to what Google is doing in stock Android 16. The suggestion bar, app icons, and layout look cleaner and more modern.

Quick Share was already merged with Google’s Nearby Share, and now with the new layout, Samsung might be focusing on keeping things familiar for users across Android devices. However, it’s still early, and more changes might come before the official release of One UI 8 later this year.

For now, this redesigned Quick Share is only available on internal test builds, and it’s not clear when Samsung will roll it out to users.
