Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 Ultra could use older chips, leaks suggest

Samsung

Samsung seems to be testing older chips for its upcoming Galaxy S25 FE phone and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra tablet. A recent leak from tipster Tech Reve says the Galaxy S25 FE might use the Exynos 2400 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip. These are both high-end processors, but they’ll be a year old by the time the S25 FE launches.

The Exynos 2400 is currently used in the Galaxy S24, while the Dimensity 9300 powers some top Android phones. Using these chips in the S25 FE would be similar to what Samsung did with the Galaxy S23 FE, which used the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. So, Samsung seems to be following the same strategy with its next Fan Edition phone.

In another leak, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is currently found in flagship phones like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. While this sounds impressive, it also means the Tab S11 Ultra might not get the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is likely to be out by the time the tablet launches.

Interestingly, Samsung is also testing the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Tab S10 Lite. This suggests that Samsung is mixing old and new chips depending on the product. In short, Samsung could be planning to use slightly older but still powerful chips in its upcoming devices to manage costs and keep performance strong.
