Samsung may launch new XR headset and Galaxy Z Flip 7 under fresh branding
Samsung seems to be getting ready to launch its first XR (Extended Reality) headset, possibly in the first half of 2025. This new product is being developed in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. Google recently hinted that Samsung’s XR device might arrive around the same time as the next Galaxy Z Flip phone, expected around July.
The XR headset is part of a growing trend in mixed-reality devices, where tech giants like Meta and Apple have already launched their own products. Samsung’s XR headset could come with a customized version of Android made for immersive experiences. Since Samsung is teaming up with Google and Qualcomm, the headset may offer powerful performance and deep software integration.
On a related note, Samsung is also making some changes to its smartphone lineup. A recent eSIM database listing shows that the Galaxy Z Flip7 might drop the “Galaxy” name in some markets and simply be called “Flip7” or “Flip XE.” This shift in naming could be part of a new branding strategy, possibly to match a simpler, global identity.
With a possible July launch for both the XR headset and the Flip7, Samsung appears to be planning a big summer release, showing off not just new tech, but also a refreshed brand image.
